Common Cover Letter Generator FAQs

Can I save my progress and come back later? Currently, the free version generator doesn´t have a save feature. We recommend completing your cover letter in one session. However, you can copy the preview text to save your progress externally.
How do I know which template is best for my industry? The basic template is versatile for most industries. The narrative style works well for creative fields, while the concise template is ideal for tech and startups. Choose based on your industry and the company culture.
Can I customize the order of the sections in the letter? The current version doesn´t allow for section reordering. However, you can edit the final text in your word processor after downloading.
Is there a word limit for each field? There´s no strict word limit, but we recommend keeping your inputs concise for a professional appearance. The preview will show you how your text fits in the letter format.
Will the generator check my spelling and grammar? The generator doesn´t include a spell-check feature. We recommend using a separate tool like Grammarly to review your text before submission.
Can I add my own custom fields to the templates? Custom fields aren´t available in the current version. Based on user feedback, we´ll add more fields or templates.

Multiple positions or companies: Focus on the most relevant position for the job you´re applying to. You can mention other experiences briefly in the "Key Experiences" or "Key Achievements" sections.
Text formatting: The current version generates plain text. For formatting, we recommend copying the content into a word processor where you can add styling.
Data privacy: Your inputs are processed locally in your browser and aren´t stored or transmitted. For privacy, avoid entering sensitive personal information.
Language support: Currently, the tool is designed for English cover letters (we´re soon adding Spanish). We´re exploring multi-language support for future versions.
Template updates: We review and update our templates based on industry trends and user feedback. Check back regularly for new options.
ATS optimization: Our templates are designed with ATS in mind. Use keywords from the job description in your inputs, especially in the skills and experiences sections.
Generation limit: There´s no limit! Feel free to create as many versions as you need to perfect your application.
Future features: We´re considering features like LinkedIn integration and a gallery of anonymized, high-quality examples for inspiration in future updates.
